New Meetup Announced for African American Art Lovers and Collectors
September 27, 2008- African American Art Lovers & Collectors Group encourages, publicizes, promotes and preserves the creative work of all African-American visual artists. We will meet at art galleries, museums, seminars and events featuring local and nationally-known African American artists. We will also check out independent films made by African American directors.
This Meetup is designed for art collectors and admirers of African American art who want to meet others with similar interests and learn more about African American artists. This includes artists, however, the group is not designed for artists to market and promote their work.
Events include art exhibition openings at local galleries, museum exhibition tours, art history seminars, films and events focusing on African American artists, and art collecting workshops/events.
We welcome anyone who has an interest in African American visual art!
